St. Louis Rams 5th Annual Taste of the NFL 2007
The St. Louis Rams held their 5th Annual Taste of the NFL 2007 at the St. Louis Area Foodbank Headquarters on Monday, October 15, 2007.
Taste of the NFL was a food and wine tasting extravaganza in which attendees sampled specialty foods prepared by St. Louis Originals member restaurants, put bids on unique items, and mingled with Rams players and cheerleaders. Honorary chairs for the event were John and Lori Shaw. La'Roi Glover was the event captain.
La'Roi Glover and his fellow St. Louis Rams teammates as well as the team's president, John Shaw, were on hand to greet and serve guests. The following restaurants participated in the event: Cardwell's at the Plaza, Mike Shannon's Steak and Seafood, Dierdorf & Hart's, Gregory's Creative Cuisine, Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream, Terrene, J. Buck's Restaurant, Renaissance Grand Hotel, Catering Plus, Companion, Red Moon Restaurant, LoRusso's Cucina, Greenbriar Hills Country Club, Racquet Club Ladue, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Bartolino's, Villa Farotto, Bethlehem Valley Vineyards, PRP Wine International and Glazer's Distributor. Proceeds will benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank and the St. Louis Sports Commission.
Since 1989, the St. Louis Sports Commission has fulfilled its mission to benefit St. Louis through sports by attracting the best in sports to the region and contributing to the area's quality of life. It has proven a results-driven organization, demonstrating tremendous value to the community. Its impact remains synonymous with civic benefit, economic development and charitable good.
The St. Louis Sports Commission's "Sports for Kids" Program directly benefited from this event. The program coordinates several unique projects that foster a winning environment for youth in the St. Louis region. Sports for Kidshas become a leader in the value of sportsmanship. Throughout the year, Sports for Kids hosts free coaching clinics that develop skills to help participants become better coaches, and in turn, lead to more positive experiences for young athletes on the playing field.

The St. Louis Area Foodbank represents a non-profit 501 (c) 3 food distribution center for organizations that feed hungry people in 14 counties in eastern Missouri and 12 counties in southwestern Illinois. In any given week, more than 43,000 individuals in the community are nourished through its network of 500 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and emergency feeding programs. It also educates the public about the nature of and the solutions to the problems of hunger.
