GLORIA GAYNOR AND VILLAGE PEOPLE HEADLINE AMERICAN LIVER FOUNDATION’S BOOGIE BALL FRIDAY NIGHT

Guests dusted off their platform boots and shook their groove thangs when disco queen Gloria Gaynor and the iconic Village People took the stage Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Ameristar Casino Resort Spa for the American Liver Foundation’s Boogie Ball.

Red carpet action began at 6:00 pm at Ameristar’s groovy new Home night club. There, VIP guests enjoyed an hour-long meet-and-greet with Gloria Gaynor and members of the Village People, complete with complimentary cocktails and appetizers.

At 7 p.m., the VIPs headed upstairs where they were treated to a disco light show of Studio 54 proportions as well as a lavish pre-concert dinner, complimentary premium bar, silent auction and the concert. The VIP tickets cost $200.00 per person and includeed all of the above, as well as an after-party at Home night club. General admission tickets were $50.00 per person and included admission to the 9 p.m. concert and the after-party.

The Boogie Ball was this year’s annual fundraiser for the American Liver Foundation- Missouri/Kansas chapter, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008. Dr. James Kimmey, President and CEO of the Missouri Foundation for Health, was this year’s Leadership Award honoree.  ALF is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for liver health promotion and disease prevention. Proceeds from the Boogie Ball went toward research, education and advocacy for those affected by hepatitis and other liver-related diseases.

Media was welcome to cover any or all of the event and the outfits alone were outstanding.
