Laumeier Sculpture Park's Socially Incorrect: A Night of Contradictions with John Waters
Laumeier Sculpture Park events are well-known for their dramatic setting and unique highlights. This year’s biennial cocktail party, Socially Incorrect: A Night of Contradictions with John Waters, held on Saturday, October 1, 2008, advanced that tradition and even offered a few surprises!
The evening began with a gallery tour of John Waters' photographs and sculptures, followed by cocktails on Laumeier's terrace. Guests were then shuttled by golf carts to a tented pavilion serving the finest cuisine from Steve Becker Fine Dining.
The menu included: "Roadkill Gone Wild," "Down On The Farm," Welcome To Suburbia," "Mamma Mia Madness," and our favorite "Tragedy At The Campfire." All this and servers in the appropriate "character" attire!
Brazen entertainment capped off the evening with the likes of: Lola van Ella, Foxy Le Feelion, Michelle Minx, Taurus de Mayo, Siren, Rev. Brian Dowell, D.J. Flex Boogie, Lisa Berdeaux, The Alley Cat Revue, and Rue 13.
