NAMI Silver Anniversary: Celebrating Beautiful Minds For 25 Years Guests helped to celebrate 25 years of families helping families at The Junior League of St. Louis 10435 Clayton Rd. The evening started at 5:30 and included live and silent auctions, dinner, an awards presentation, and music by The Blue Knights. Awardees included Jennifer Blome, Judge James Sullivan, and Saaid Khojasteh, M.D. The evening’s M.C. was Keith Antone Willis of 104.9 FM and Speaker Catherine L. Hanaway was the special guest. The Alliance for the Mentally Ill - NAMI St. Louis - is a leader in providing services to those who care for - and about - people with mental illness. Through its extensive array of support and educational programs, informational resources and advocacy activities, NAMI St. Louis works to fulfill its mission to improve the quality of life for people recovering from severe mental illness. Serving the area since 1978, NAMI St. Louis is a founding member and regional office of a nationwide service organization established by and for families of individuals stricken with severe mental illness. Among the five largest NAMI Affiliates in the country, it has a continually growing membership that now exceeds 2,000 individuals. Thousands more participate in the many programs it offers in St. Louis City and County and five surrounding Missouri counties. The United Way of Greater St. Louis recognizes NAMI's essential role in the community by granting membership in 1999.
