Lupus Foundation of America Inc. 23rd Annual "Walk for Lupus Now!"

On Sunday, October 1, 2006 The Lupus Foundation held their 23rd Annula "Walk for Lupus Now!" at Shaw Park in Clayton.

Walkers starting arriving at 9:30 am for registration and warming up at 10:30 am. The walk began promptly at 10:45 a.m.

The 'Walk' serves as the biggest fundraiser and educational event for the lupus community and benefits local patient support programs. In addition to food and fellowship, this year's 'Walk' had something for everyone from free literature about lupus to face painting and clowns for the young and young at heart.

The Missouri Lupus Foundation Board of Directors would like to extend a special thank you to: Kimberly Powell and Lynda Michelson, the 2005 Walk Committee and especially Outback Steakhouse of Richmond Heights.

The mission of the Missouri Lupus Foundation is to: “Improve the lives of people with lupus through community education, research and patient support.”

With nearly 300 chapters, branches and support groups in 32 states, the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) is the nation's leading non-profit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the causes and cure for lupus. Our mission is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, support individuals and families affected by the disease, increase awareness of lupus among health professionals and the public, and find the causes and cure.
