Youth and Family Center, The

 

Statement of Purpose: The mission of The Youth and Family Center is to help youth, families and older adults attain self-sustaining lives by providing innovative and enriching resources and to serve as an anchor for the Near North Side of St. Louis. Since 1888, The Youth and Family Center has provided innovative and enriching resources to help youth, families and older adults attain self-sustaining lives, and served as an anchor for the near northside of St. Louis. A small staff on a small budget--assisted by a few volunteers--make a big difference in the lives of approximately 1,000 primarily 5th ward residents each year. The Center offers a number of ongoing projects, including after school care, summer camp, residential camp, computer training, athletics, and senior assistance programs, along with some special community activities. The Youth and Family Center is affiliated with United Way, Variety Club, and the Optimist's Club.
